CobaltNova has announced that this year will see the first organized system of awards for Halo fan films, to be called the Rockets on Prisoner awards. From among the 300 Halo fan films out there, there will be five nominees in each of six categories. More information is available from the Rockets on Prisoner page of CobaltNova.com.

Matt also posted word that Halo was nominated in three categories and won in two at the recent British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. TeamXbox is reporting that the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) has announced the nominees for their 2001 Game Developers Choice Awards, which will be awarded March 19 - 23 in San Jose, CA.

Halo was nominated for Game of the Year as well as for excellence in Audio and Programming categories. Halo was conspicuously absent from the visual arts category.
