According to Bungie, the release dates of the game and the film "will not affect each other." Source: Halo Weekly Update 05132006 UPDATE: Since this writing, studio support and funding for the Halo film has been withdrawn, and no new agreements or release dates have been announced. It now seems likely that the film will miss the rumored 2008 release target, if indeed it still will be made. Microsoft has said they would rather make no Halo film at all than a bad one, and that they will not proceed without studio backing.
