Nate Birkholz of MacSoft has posted a couple of status updates in the Myth Village forum. The first is in response to Webscreamer's post, but for some reason Webscreamer has deleted his own post. Fortunately Birkholz's is still available.
Posted on November 30, the first update reads:
> If I recall, Nate said Myth 3 will be out in
> early Dec. That means, its either coming out
> this next week or within 2 weeks.> I will believe it when I see it, because I

Now we're looking like mid-December. We still haven't missed Christmas yet.
Basically, we are looking at somewhere between two and three weeks from Gold date. We hope closer to two than three. Having all the manuals and boxes and everything pre-printed helps tremendously.
The second update is in response to Mac Guy's request for an update. It reads:
As far as status: the situation has been changing the last few days, but overall, things are improving.OS X networking is fixed (whoohoo!) thanks to the ever-diligent work of Bill Heinemann and Chris Jacobson.
Unfortunately, a couple of instability problems (Kernel Panic is fun!) have cropped up in the recent build, and the aformentioned folks are diligenting the problem.
If we're lucky, Mac users will have Myth III in their hands by Christmas. However, I wouldn't bet on it.
