Anybody remember the 2d, avatar-based graphical chat environment The Palace?

It was supposed to be the next killer app, supplant text-based email and impersonal web pages, put a personal face on the Internet, and allow everyone to run their own online community.

Well, although it looks like email, Hotline and ICQ succeeded where The Palace didn't, there are still a few of them around-- including the Marathon Palace. The page with the Java interface doesn't want to load for me, but if you can get a hold of the software from someplace, there should be enough information at that page to connect to the server.
