Yeah, I wish. Even a weekend at the lake can't drag my mind away from what is happening here at the site, what I still have to do, and what I might have to do soon... sigh.

But I am back, and many thanks to rhino for keeping an eye on things. Watch for a redesign over the next week or so... I'm going to try a simpler design for faster loading and higher content, and see how that works. Stay tuned!

One more before I'm gone. Gabriel, of the Penny Arcade, writes:

Hey, my name is mike. I draw a comic about games called Penny Arcade. Anyway our latest strip was about Halo so I thought you guys might get a kick out of it:)

Laugh if you will, but that sums up more than a few reactions...

Kudos to Locklear, who pointed out an interview of Bungie's Peter Tamte at Mac Gamer's Ledge. Not much in the way of Halo here, but worth reading for the background information.

Yes, I know the timing is awful, but I'll be out of it until Sunday evening, until which time Badlands webmaster rhino will be posting any critical news items or breaking stories. It's nasty HTML to work with, so he's going to stick to the major items, but I'll do a roundup on Sunday evening of all the weekends events.

That said, any important news items should be sent to him as well... have a good weekend all! And for once, hope for a slow one! ;)

Many thanks to Total Audio's Marty O'Donnell, who has supplied a much higher quality version of the bootlegged MWNY Demo music. It is available at from here, or at it's source--whichever is faster for you. Enjoy!

Sporting a new design and some up to date headlines, halo.bungie.org is in business, with a new article and new site announcement in the news.

Lews Therin writes to announce his new Halo site, Halo Central. Thus far, he's keeping up on the news, and things are looking good... one to keep an eye on.

Another day, another correction... MacWEEK's Dan Turner writes regarding yesterday's post about a post on Wednesday:

Kudos to Legend, who has passed along an MP3 version of the MWNY Demo's stirring music. It's pulled right from the movie, so there's really nothing new, but at 1.2 megs it's a much more modest download.

With luck, we'll be able to obtain a higher quality file in the near future... this music is good even with the imperfections of the available format. With an original, it would be stunning.
