IMG Accepting Mac Myth III Pre-Orders
Inside Mac Games has reported that they are accepting Mac Myth III pre-orders in their online store. It looks like you have to be a MacGames CD subscriber to take advantage of the deal, but in case you are, then you can pre-order Myth III for $35 plus shipping charges. You can find out more details in IMG's online store and expect the game to be released in mid-November.
Xbox Launch Titles To Be Available For Rent
According to ActiveXbox, online video game rental service RedOctane will have all of the Xbox's launch titles available for rental on November 15th at a 7-day rental price of $6.95. The story goes on to say that:
Five Levels Of Green Berets Walkthrough Posted
MythVillage has noted that the official site for the Green Berets game, based on the Myth II engine, has posted a walkthrough for the first five levels of the game. Apparently more levels are coming later.
Microsoft Forms Xbox Newsgroups
Harry gave the heads-up to halo.bungie.org that Microsoft has started some newsgroups for the Xbox.
I have to admit I haven't delved into Usenet in quite awhile, but who knows, there might end up being some useful stuff there.
One of the groups is microsoft.public.games.halo.
Rampancy Returns
Well, not so much as a return as a change of address. Our regular domain name, rampancy.net, now points at the new server. Everyone appreciates our readers' patience during this rather impromptu beta test; but at the very least it made sure we got the site rebuild done before the Xbox launched, which otherwise might not have happened.
Halo Now Being Certified, Gold Master Soon?
A group of short, stout, large-toothed pack animals just rampaged through Rampancy central headquarters, muttering something in an unintelligible language.
When we ran it through the Universal Translator, this is what came out:
Halo is currently being certified, meaning it isn't actively being worked on by Bungie Studios at this time. Unless a rather serious flaw is found, it should be certified as Gold Master.
Then they ate a few cookies and left.
Mac Myth III Release Info From MacSoft
EastWind of MWA contacted MacSoft support inquiring about Myth III's status for the Mac and he received a response that said that its tentative release date is November 13 and it will cost $49.99. You can read the entire e-mail in MWA's forum.
9 New Halo Videos
Kudos to Ferrex for pointing out that GameSpot has posted 9 new Halo videos. HBO is saying that the videos show the entire first level and even a bit more than that.
