So here we go again, clearing out the fuel lines as I get ready to leave the site on autopilot for a few days. A few things of note recently:
- Halo Babies' new comic cannot hide that mark.
- MLG interviews StK members Ogre 1, Ogre 2, Walshy and Saiyan.
- Game magazines suck according to These Damned Machines Are Killing Me.
- NextBox logo bogus, wireless controllers maybe in GameSpot's Rumor Control.
- The Halo Story Page at Bungie.org bounces back from a database problem.
- Funnyman122, user #5000 at Rampancy.net, submitted a nice brief summary of common multiplayer tricks and glitches which we added to the Halo 2 Trick Database.
When I return I'll look into replacing the Sony TV that I sold so that I can play Halo 2 and continue the Impressions series. I'm actually aiming for an Optoma H-31 projector because it is a reasonably priced DLP projector that's not too large or heavy, has decent specifications and handles component input via RCA plugs and also has a DVI port. If anyone has any better suggestions, please let me know; I've been comparing various units online now for several days and this newly-released unit seems like the best choice.

In reply to: Looks like a sweet TV.Size and weight really are overriding concerns for me-- In the last ten years, I've lived in... hmm, let me see... eleven different apartments in two countries.
I moved a 19" Hitachi CRT between the first six, and then changed countries between apartments seven and eight, and bought a 27" Sony CRT in 2001 and moved it between the last three apartments.
I forget how many kilos this thing weighs.. but it's heavy, and I've really had enough moving around this kind of stuff myself.
Yes, it requires a tuner-- but I have a CATV tuner from my cable company, and I don't watch much TV anyway. We've got an old VHS machine, and it has a tuner, too-- most of the expected viewing is movies and tv programs on DVD or Xbox games.
I've had the same Cambridge Soundworks external 5.1 system for the past three years (prior to Creative buyout, which is important) so that's not a real issue-- I never use a TV's built-in speakers anyway.
You're right about heat and noise: these things do get hot and blow hot air around. I'm looking at ceiling-mounting if possible.
