When I first heard about Halo 2 (well over a year ago), they said to expect a late 2003 release. Then they thought it might be out in time for Christmas. Then I believe they said early 2004. Then they told me April. Now it's pushed back all the way to "Late 2004" and with the tease date of September 15th. Since E3 last May, the only thing released that shed any light on Halo 2 was Eric Nylund's book, First Strike, but we really haven't seen a whole lot of new info. I think we should kill ourselves one by one in Bungie's parking lot until they let us watch some new stuff or something. Who's with me?

I don't know who you were listening to, or where you read that, but it certainly wasn't from Bungie. The only thing that Bungie said about Halo 2's release in 2003 was that the release would NOT be in 2003. And they said that all the way back in the spring (March or April, I don't have the date in front of me).

Once it was 2004, they clarified that it would be Fall 2004. Check the Halo 2 FAQ: http://rampancy.net/halo2faq

Sorry, never happened. Please provide a link or citation to any website, newspaper article, magazine, ANYTHING that substantiates your claim. Bungie said more than a year ago that it would not be in 2003 at all, and that was all they said.

In reply to: Nope

The first time I heard about Halo 2, which was a long time ago and the info was likely based on rumers, was in Electronic Gaming Monthley issue #160. It was almost a year and a half ago, so like I said, don't listen to me.

Bungie has a policy of never giving out release dates.

So when you claim that "they said" what you REALLY mean is you listened to those idiots on websites and magazines and storefronts that pulled a date out of their own ass to impress you that they knew when Halo 2 was coming out.

You should be mad at them, not Bungie.
