Do you guys enjoy interrupting one another? It happens like every 30 seconds.

Talking over each other
Is there anything you guys can do to reduce the frequency that you talk over each other? I assume part of the problem is distance--when participants are talking in different cities, the audio delays may make it difficult for people to determine when it's safe for them to talk. I don't know how to solve that, but this podcast was hard to listen to at times because of it.

It is difficult. We usually have four guys, only two of which are in the same time zone, and there is considerable lag so that sometimes the others don't know someone has started talking because they can't hear him yet; at other times, there are gaps to cut out because people start talking, then stop because someone else started talking, who then stops because they heard someone else start talking.
Although admittedly that happens less often-- but it is easier to correct when it does.
Basically it's just myself and blackstar trying to see who talks the most, with Mig trying to get a word in edgewise. I do try and edit out as much of this as possible-- by seeing whose conversation thread took off and then just muting the others, but I don't always catch them all.
In addition to trying to keep the audio-only episodes shorter and more on-topic, we're working on this, too. A big part of it is more extensive preparation.
Thanks for listening!

Re: Anger, Sadness and Envy Episode 18: Reach Firefight ...
Around 15:43 (after a bit of a lead-up) Blackstar is talking about Hunters now having eyes, but I really can't see any indication of that, though admittedly I'm not looking at the highest quality footage. I tracked down a large Hunter screenshot on Bungie but I can't say eyes are clearly shown there either.
As for Blackstar's question (20:02) "What do you think about airstrikes?", I'm doubtful whether I'll use those much, other than for the occasional bit of fun. I suspect they could make some things too easy. Maybe Bungie have included situations where they're really counting on you using them else things would be hellishly difficult, but in normal situations I think I'll want to tackle things in the usual more personal manner. I don't feel too interested in asking someone else to eliminate enemies for me.
Around 21:58 Blackstar mentioned that the new bubble shield takes damage. Glad to hear it! I disliked those things in H3 because they mostly just slowed things down and highlighted the stupidity of Brutes (deploying them then immediately wandering out). At least this time we'll have a means to shorten the delay.
Around 45:10 Narcogen touches on the darker tone things seem to have, with possibly less humour. I've heard that even the Grunts will no longer be speaking English. For me the loss of their comedy lines would be quite a blow, though I can see how those lines could've made it impossible to deliver a consistently 'gritty' experience. But the humour in Halo has always been a significant part of the game for me, and nowhere more so than with the Grunts. So I'm wondering if Bungie might have recognized that there are fans who really enjoy that side of things, and included an option to switch their comedy lines back on. Could be implemented by a skull for example.
