Expected release for Xbox2 is (I believe) Holiday 2005. Expected release for Halo3 is the year 2568 (That is if they're planning on making it good). Halo 2.5 on the other hand, may be a worthwhile propsition instead of making another Halo3. Halo 2.5 would be more managable for them. Although I would support the use of downloadable content more than I would the release of another game I'll have to pay 50$ for. If it is only half a game, I do expect them to sell it for no more than 25$ though. In fact, I want them to give Halo 2.5 to me, for free! I paid 50$ for half of a game when I bought Halo2, so they'll be handing out lots of free copies of Halo 2.5. Thanks Bungie! ---Wanted9867---

are you serious that you will not buy xbox 2 for halo 2.5, they won't make it on xbox because the graphics are going to be new technology, it wouldn't make sense, I am calling you a NOOB, and an ASS PACKAGE, comeon just buy it and continue the dream on being the masterchief. Halo 2 has not been announced for the PC, and so there is no demo.

Some of us, myself included, doubt there will ever be such a port. Halo 1 was ported because of a promise Bungie made to its many fans who are/were PC and Mac gamers; there's never been any such promise with respect to Halo 2.

I heard so much about Halo from the Xbox people and how it was like the greatest game ever and that PC people could not play the game, nana nana boo boo, etc. so when I finally got Halo for the PC, I though, "Oh man this is going to be good.". I played on my PC and was very sad to see that the game is ridiculous kid stuff. Stupid looking aliens taunting me, retarded weapons, etc. it looked like some sort of a Sesame Street game or something so I Sh@itcanned it and that was the end of Halo. Now for Christmas I got Halo Combat Evolved and am wondering what to do with it. The box is unopened so I could exchange it for something else that I might actually like, Sands Of Time perhaps, or I could just open the box and install it and see what the deal is. What do you people think, is Combat Evolved a fun game or is it just BS? I do not like Quake Arena so if it is anything like that or UT then I really don't want it. All of the Quake games were super excellent (I think that the original Quake was one of the best.) but Quake 3 was mega BS. No single play at all and online play was dumb, you appear in the game, immediately get killed by some gun kiddie, and this repeats over and over. Nowhere to hide and stalk, just appear and get killed, that sucked.

Combat Evolved was just the marketing catchphrase for Halo 1, the game that was first released on the Xbox and then ported (poorly, many say) to Windows and the Mac.

There is another "Halo CE" on Windows which is Halo Custom Edition (not to be confused with Combat Evolved. This is a special version of Halo to be used with the game's editing tools to create new levels. To use Custom Edition you need the original game. It is a free download.

If you say you've played Halo, then you've already played "Combat Evolved", and if you didn't like it then, you probably won't now.

Having said that, I like Halo a lot and so do many people. However, if you are expecting a game with stealth, Halo (and Halo 2) are not games for you. They are science fiction action games, not tactical shooters.

It won't do much to ask if people here like it-- this is a Bungie and a Halo fansite, so if people are reading here, it's probably because they like Halo and other Bungie games.

I would buy any halo that is put out on the market, because halo 2 like halo 1 wants you for more blood and action, and what would be of our hero Master chief? if it stoped at halo 2. I for one would be very disapointed and want to know more of the story. Remember good things can talk a while, and then when you get that good thing it is great!

I would get halo 2.5 for xbox 2 if it is out by then. but then i would have halo 2 on xbox and halo 2.5 on xbox 2. Unless of course xbox games will be compatible with xbox 2. Halo 2.5 will only be a few more campain levels any way but i would still get halo 2.5 on xbox 2. Oh ya and dous and one know when xbox 2 or halo 2.5 will be coming out?

Wow, news of more halo so soon? I've got to say it, I'm impressed. And of a second X Box no less(yes it would be nice if Original X Box titles would play on such a console). Anyways, back to the topic. Clearly I haven't heard of any of this until now,(need to check in more). About this "Halo 2.5"; Has that even been settled on as an actual title for the game? Is it even really its own game or simply an extension or even just an addon to Halo 2? Has its possible future existence been either confirmed or denied by Bungie or Microsoft, or is it simply an urban myth? All of these things are questions I would like to have answered before I actually decided for sure wether I would(or even could) buy it. That is why I voted a definite mabey. However, the news that there might already be plans underway for a new game is to say the least, exciteing.

I wouldn't mind Halo 3 on the Halo 2 engine, if they could just fix some of the new issues they created that the Halo 1 engine didn't have (texture pop, sword bugs, etc).

Heck, I'd have been happy if Halo 2 used the Halo 1 engine but had new units, weapons, locations, vehicles, and at least brought the story to a more convenient point to stop than it did.

Try as they might, nobody can convince me that Halo 2 ended as envisioned. It's NOT really a cliffhanger. It just ends awkwardly.

If it ended as you were leaping in midair onto the Control Room platform, with the Index activating the Halo, unsure if it is going to fire or not, unsure if the Master Chief would make the leap or fall to his death, THAT would have been a cliffhanger (although I'm not sure anyone would have been more angry at that ending than they are at the one they got).

As it is, the whole "Halos on standby" threat simply doesn't seem immediate enough to qualify as a cliffhanger.

Gravemind and Cortana are about to sit down and have tea, Master Chief has arrived home and we already know that Hood isn't going to open fire on him.

The forerunner ship might be an impressive threat, but we have no evidence of it yet.

The ending could have either brought events to a logical and emotional satisfying conclusion while only hinting at the future (as Halo 1 did) or ended in medias res, with an immediate threat.

It does neither; I think that's why people are really pissed about it.

hey, We all know how insanely wicked halo 2's multiplayer is. But i wish i could say the same about the campaign. My question is simply if halo 2.5 is gonna focus on the other half of the campaign without changing anything, or is it gonna be a whole new level of the halo world. Thanx 4 listenin.
