We've finished with the canonical Marathon Trilogy and are moving on to third party scenarios, starting with EVIL. In this scenario, a UESC ship from Tau Ceti runs into a spatial anomaly that sends them far away where we encounter something dark and evil.

Two levels ago we were manhandling moons. Then we had a pool party. Now we're in the sewers doing platform puzzles. Things are not going well.

EVIL can be played, like the other Marathon games, using the open source Aleph One engine which you can get here for Windows, Mac and Linux:

Blackstar and Narcogen go to the Reef to visit the Queen and her very odd brother, then go back to Venus to try and find a Vex brain to dissect. On the way, they get distracted by a Public Event, and then ambushed by respawning waves of Vex while Ghost tries to hack a computer, before finally contemplating the word salad that is Destiny's level naming convention.

Let's Play Destiny Co-Op #12: A Stranger's Call

Narcogen and Blackstar (especially Narcogen) encounter significant difficulties in facing the new enemies on Venus: the time-traveling robot Vex. As a reward, they get to see the game's first (and perhaps best and possibly only) real cutscene.

We go from tinkering with planetary systems to splashing about in the pool. Guess which one is more fun? Actually it's a close call.

The mysterious Felix has an ingenious, inscrutable plan to mess with the Mystics by ruining their planet's magnetic field.

In this story mission of Destiny, Blackstar and Narcogen are tasked with destroying the Shrine of Oryx and its guardian, Sardok.

Blackstar and Narcogen are picking up with playing Destiny in co-op mode with the first moon mission: The Dark Beyond. (The Cosmodrome story missions and strike seem largely unchanged from the beta test, at least at their lower difficulty levels).

The Hive are using some secret ritual to weaken the Traveler. Blackstar and Narcogen have to get to the deep, dark bottom of it.

A special task force awaits to help us take out a special Juggernaut. If only we weren't so impatient.

Long ago, a Hive member named Crota wielded a deadly sword against the forces of Light. The Speaker tasks us with defeating the sword's creators, the Swarm Princes, to prevent the sword from being used again. (Not sure how, it just sort of disappears, and sometimes there's more than one.)

Six chips. Six slots. No waiting.

No, actually there is a lot of waiting while we wander around trying to figure out how to find the chips and all these slots, and then grenades start passing through sprites and geometry, and that's never good.

Deep under the moon's surface, a Knight guards the World's Grave. Time to kill him.

Our job here is to destroy the facility (built inside a volcano) by causing it to fill with lava. Aren't volcanoes already filled with lava?

CORRECTION: I misidentify the text on the structures in this video. It is Chinese, not Japanese.

We venture into Hive territory to find a fallen Guardian and track down its Ghost.

Emerging from cryo, we're sent down in a small shuttle to the marine resort, apparently called Magrathea (although this name is never mentioned aside from the level title, and no other overt references are made to Douglas Adams' luxury planet-building factory).

After failing to capture the Mystics, we get dumped into cryo storage and shipped off to a Marine resort for cyborgs. Seriously. However, we won't see that in this level-- it's just the lift.
