Marathon 2 Coming To XBLA?
According to XBLArcade.com, German website xbox-arkiv says that the German ratings board, the USK, has been asked to rate Marathon 2: Durandal, indicating that a port of the Bungie shooter classic, already open sourced and available as Aleph One will be making its way to Xbox Live Arcade sometime in the future.
Sounds cool. It'll be great to play Halo's grandpa series on the Box. I do hope they improve the graphics a bit though: pixelated like that running on a 360 with full High-def. . .
Well, it IS just a rumor at this point. Given that Marathon has already been open sourced and been given a texture upgrade in the form of Aleph One, it seems a shame to waste that effort-- but since it IS open source, I doubt MS could charge for it-- and if they can't, why would they bother?
Since I do most of my gaming on the console now and not a Mac or PC, I'd love to play the Marathon series on the 360. I had fun with the original Doom games included on the Doom 3 disc-- probably more than I had with Doom 3 itself!
Rampant for over se7en years.
