Well Rounded Entertainment have released their awards for the best games of E3, and Halo's reviewed and listed as a runner-up for Best Action Game. Why didn't it make 1st place? The complaints are familiar ones by now:

As gorgeous as the game is - no one has had a chance to try the game out firsthand. And the storyline is still rather generic - aliens versus super soldiers. Had a playable demo been available, this could easily have won best of show.

Alice, a game I didn't even notice when I was at E3 (not that that reflects on its quality, of course), got the gold.
