In November of 2000, we posted a story about a listing at Amazon for the Official Strategy Guide for Halo, to be done by Sybex. Shortly thereafter, HBO posted about a mockup of that guide's cover over at EBWorld.

Of course, both those entries now are gone, although interestingly enough the EBWorld page's title still stays Halo Sybex Strategy Guide -- right above where it says that the product you requested is currently not available.

Which is probably because it doesn't exist.

Prima is doing the Halo Strategy Guide, and it's available for pre-order at EBGames for $14.99; they say it will ship November 11. It's also available directly from Prima. All this means there will probably be another rash of spoilers out there before the game actually gets into most players' hands.
