Louis Wu of HBO has written a Halo review of his own. While you might expect the man behind one of the largest Halo sites online to be a bit biased, it's actually a very honest review. Louis Wu wasn't afraid to criticize what needed to be criticized and at the same time, he praised what needed to be praised. Since we all know what's good, here's an excerpt from the review that conveys a couple of the cons of Halo:
There are some sections that feel repetitive - it's not even that you've done it before (though you have) - it's more that they just seem to go on and on... But worst for me (as minor as it might seem to some of you) was cutscene behavior. Several times during the game, you trigger a cutscene... and perspective shifts from first to third person, as the action unfolds. Unfortunately, these scenes are not really tied in to the game you're playing. Usually, the Master Chief is shown carrying his trusty AR... even if you (the player) don't have an AR in your arsenal.
This is probably one of the best reviews you can read if you want to know what Halo is really about and how it stands as the game we expect it to be. Overall, HBO scored Halo 93 out of 100.

Well...
I have to argue with some of that review. With the AI - and the jackals not jumping from grenades - They actually will dodge a grenade. It is just more prominant on a higher difficulty level.
As for the cut scenes: The 1 and only change in the entire scene is the weapon in your hand. All other items in the background, from dead marines to vehicles, are presant during the scene. In the first control room scene, park your banshee just outside the door if you dont believe me. The scenes actually are tied in with the game. I dont know why bungie chose to throw an AR in your hand every scene, though.
