  2. Matt Lowers the Boom on MacRumors.com

Thu, 09/14/2000 - 15:57 by narcogen

In response to a recent story on MacRumors.com that was later picked up at Mac Gamer's Ledge, Bungie representative Matt Soell has posted an item on the Halo.bungie.org forum (wow, wouldn't it be neat if we had one of those forum thingies, so Matt could post on it?) In short, he says that Halo is not complete on either Windows or Macintosh platforms, and is not being held back by Microsoft for the X-Box release.

From the post:

Microsoft is not forcing us to hold anything back; the game is not at a point where anyone would even consider setting a ship date, let alone delaying the ship date. We are not running nVidia cards on Macs either, but that's not important except to show that the entirety of the post is a lie, a fabrication, an invention of someone who could be spending their time in a million better ways.
If Halo was done, I would be too busy playing it to respond to silly things like this. ;-)

There you have it. Myself I wonder how the rumor about Nvidia cards started, as it's well documented that Nvidia manufactures chipsets, not cards, and there's been no confirmation of any manufacturer producing even test runs of Nvidia cards for the Macintosh platform. If anyone does know anything about that, let us know.
