A few changes in the polling procedure last week, but a good result nonetheless. While the final result was clear early on, I must admit I didn't expect it. When asked which readers would prefer, a first or third person perspective in Halo, the majority among the 282 votes was clear:
First: | 25% | |
Third: | 54% | |
Undecided: | 19% |
There has been much debate about this since Halo's announcement. I suspect these results are a bit skewed at the moment, as many of the people following Halo right now are Myth fans, used to a third person perspective. It might be worthwhile to run the poll again at some future date, when the Halo community contains more Quake and Unreal fans, members of the first person old guard.
The undecided result is interesting, too. I suspect most of those votes came from FPS fans willing to give Bungie a chance-the results might've been much closer if that option had not been offered.
Again, thanks for voting, all. The new poll will be open shortly, and I hope the turnout remains high.
