Kudos to rojay, who pointed out on the forum an interesting comment from Bungie's Alexander Seropian with regards to Microsoft's all but announced X-Box:

For years we've been making games that push the limits of PC technology, and we're very excited to see upcoming console systems shipping with so much power under the hood. X-Box is a prime example of a console entering the market at the leading edge of technology, which is exactly where we want our games to be.

So does this mean we might see future Bungie titles, perhaps even Oni and Halo, on Microsoft's box? The platform gap isn't quite as wide as that between PCs and the PS2 (widely believed to be an all but certain destination for a Halo port), so you never know.
