guS and Burnie have written up their own compendious Halo 2 Preview based on their trip to Bungie, complete with photos of themselves and other Bungie staff and fans, and a nice rundown on maps, vehicles and weapons.
GamesRadar has put up a two-page piece on Halo 2 from EDGE magazine, talking about how great multiplayer is, and repeating the complaints of journalists worldwide who wanted a peek at the single-player campaign and haven't been able to cajole any information out of Bungie. Editor's Note: longtime Bungiefen might recognize the "grey, hairless" beast pictured in concept art in one cubicle that's mentioned in the article. Another Marathon-Halo crossover?
A site called The Man Room has done up a preview of Halo 2's vehicles, and promises that a preview of weapons will come tomorrow. Thanks HaloPlanet.
WorthPlaying has put up a two part (one, two) preview of Halo 2. Thanks HaloPlanet.
Three more Halo 2 previews popped up over the last few days: Computer and Video Games (part one, part two) and Game Daily (covering gameplay).
Frankie's update this week is at Halo Babies, where, like Andre the Giant in Princess Bride, Mister Chief is dreaming of large women. Except, in his case, it's a nightmare. In addition, Bungie.net has a roundup of all the Halo 2 previews that are going up all over the web. Some we mentioned before, some are new to us.
Mark Ryan Sallee at IGN played the Zanzibar level of Halo 2 at Game Stars Live, and wrote up a short article of his impressions, including some of the changes made to the weapons. Apparently, the plasma weapons, including his own favorite, the plasma rifle, don't slow down enemies the way they did in Halo 1. And that makes Mark sad.
In the first videogame preview seemingly done by an entire country, Canada.com has put up a look at Halo 2. And yes, we know that's really Canada's National Post, and even if we hadn't, Louis Wu would have been there to tell us.
A site called The Flaming Blue Ninjas has a new article up where their own Rabid Gnome interviews John "Xearo" Blow who played Halo 2 at MLG Seattle. He rates the vehicles and weapons and talks about his general impressions. Generally, he dislikes dual wielding, the new needler, the plasma sword, the fixed pistol, and all vehicles. He likes the battle rifle.
IGN's Tal Blevins was on hand at the German Games Convention in Leipzig, and while there they got their hands on Halo 2. Having already had the chance to play Zanzibar at E3, their rep thought he could hand the Germans their hats on the map; sounds like he got his chance. However, with phrases like "Suck on some of that, Dieter" I hope he isn't hoping for a career in diplomacy.
Viper at BGH has put up an article with predictions on what will happen to our favorite characters and races in Halo 2; a nice long read it is, too.
Rams tipped us off to the second part of Banshee Ace's look at Halo 2 over at Battleground Halo. This one brings the series to a conclusion, and hints at a lot of things that might (we hope) get into Halo 2, as well as some things everyone has already seen.
