It's not as ugly as it sounds. After a half week run, the Poll has been updated with a new question, and the results from the prior poll have been dissected and posted on our Polls page. The results weren't awfully surprising, but there was some interesting stuff in there... check it out, and offer your own thoughts on our analysis.

As for the new poll, all votes are welcome, and we'll probably close this one Thursday morning. Get those votes in, and thanks to everyone who voted on the last one.

I know it's not Blam news, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. The Townhall is reporting that the MaraMyth (Myth II with Marathon units) Demo has been released. They've posted more specifics, but suffice it to say that the Mill and Baron's Keep should have it posted shortly. Myth and Marathon fans alike should take a look at this one.

Kudos to Carch, who pointed out a disgustingly obvious bug with the Forum HTML that may've been responsible for the black text/white background bug some users on IE/Win98 reported.

If you happen to be one of those users, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a look and tell me if it's really fixed... and if not, back to the bug hunt.

game:
  • Halam has returned, bringing us back to three Blam sites... and it's got some content, too (just look really hard... you'll see it).
game:

Just the straight up truth. Not even a lot happening in the Myth community today, news-wise...

Ah well. The poll is doing very well, with just over 200 votes at last check, and a few bugs were evicted from the forum (though a particularily nasty one involving IE on Win98 remains... any help fixing this one would be greatly appreciated). News archive and some articles for the Database are on the to do list too.

game:
  • Halam has vanished, leaving us back with two Blam sites... reworking or gone forever, only Mojo knows.

To quote from our very own FAQ:

Greetings, I am the second trapped soul in this creation... And I come bearing gifts!

With the hype now surrounding blam, a recent barrage of questions has hit us and the entire community. What is blam? and Who is Cortana? still evades the clueless, What is Halo? is a lesser known fact and other questions such as Who at Bungie works on blam? is a rare piece of trivia.

It took a few hours of good, hard labor, but the Core finally has its forum up and running.

A modified version of the venerable WebBBS script, the b.net general discussion forum is accepting visitors, though the paint is still a little wet. I'm still tweaking the appearance, and I'm also taking suggestions for layout improvements. A few more days of adjustments, and it should be done--in the meantime, stop by and post a message or two.

game:
  • Marathon's Story appears to be experiencing a touch of downtime, but the mirror at bungie.org is up and speculating about domain names, among other things.
  • Claude sends word of a new site, Halam(?), in the works. Curious about the name? The source reveals all.

After just over a hundred votes, we've determined that the poll script does actually work now, so it's time for a real topic!

Ever since Blam became a catchword, there has been quite a bit of speculation about what the game actually is. Through hypothesis and a bit of leaked information, some people have a fairly good idea what it may be, but nothing is cast in stone yet.

Kudos to the folk who pointed out a few problems and glitches in the layout, including a particularly glaring (but ultimately inconsequential) gaff with the Database search script.

With the fun bugs like that fixed, it's down to the hard, back breaking labor that makes every day worth living. Finding the process of scripting a new forum to be a wee bit over my head, I've returned to attacking the WebBBS script with a sharp instrument, and I hope to have a nicely hacked up version online today, or (realistically speaking) tomorrow. Stay tuned.

After a lengthly design phase, the Core is finally online. And there was much rejoicing.

The first of it's kind (I think), the Core is/will be a news and resource site following and reporting on Bungie's new game, Blam. Currently in development, Blam has not yet been officially announced--we're here to cover the development and that eventual announcement, as well as the life of the game following release (and maybe even a sequel! ;).
