Kudos to Legend, who has passed along an MP3 version of the MWNY Demo's stirring music. It's pulled right from the movie, so there's really nothing new, but at 1.2 megs it's a much more modest download.
With luck, we'll be able to obtain a higher quality file in the near future... this music is good even with the imperfections of the available format. With an original, it would be stunning.
Another day, another correction... MacWEEK's Dan Turner writes regarding yesterday's post about a post on Wednesday:
Lews Therin writes to announce his new Halo site, Halo Central. Thus far, he's keeping up on the news, and things are looking good... one to keep an eye on.
A big slab o' kudos to Nepenthe, who pointed out a new (and much more detailed) Halo article at Mac Central. Definitely one to take a look at, as it reveals some new information about the story and engine, as well as one other thing...
The Townhall's very complete Halo coverage page notes a correction regarding the demo's music. While originally reported as having been done in house, it has now been clarified by Bungie's Max Hoberman that Total Audio was indeed responsible for the enthralling theme. I'm looking forward to hearing what else they produce for Halo, and how they move from Myth's orchestral, fantasy music to something more suited to an action packed science fiction setting.
But not necessarily better quality. Fellow Badlander MCD made good use of Snapz Pro to capture a longer slice of the keynote stream last night, including Jobs' introduction of Jones, and Jones' introduction of Halo.
As posted at halo.bungie.org, the hl.bungie.org hotline server (164.58.172.181) now has copies of the Gamespot movie and some other cool Halo stuff to hand out, as well as the usual advantages of a Hotline server. HL addiction? Stop by and check it out.
