Without getting too specific (which I can't and won't) in general it means cracking open your xbox, installing a modchip (requires soldering-- and good luck finding such a chip, as MS has clamped down on the supply) then using some programs easily found with a Google search to copy Halo maps to your PC, edit them, and copy them back.
Keep in mind, after you've done this to your Xbox, you can't use it on Xbox Live, nor can you get a warranty repair.
