Okay, first of all, I know, there's no such thing as official Mythic difficulty in Halo 3. That's what people call playing solo, legendary, all skulls on (HSH calls them SLASO to create more acronyms).
Daniel "Tyrant" Morris has posted over at HBO a walkthrough for this mode that makes this possible, and it's fantastic. If you haven't read it and you're a campaign junkie, it's an absolute must.
UPDATE: Author corrected from Asmodeus to Daniel "Tyrant" Morris.

Re: Halo On Mythic Difficulty Walkthrough
The writing and advice for that challenge looks really well done, and the 'Skulltacular!' section gives easily the best and fullest description I've yet seen of the various skull effects. I commend the effort, but it's just a shame I can't be interested in the challenge itself. Why not? Because the Blind and Black Eye skulls are included, both of which detract heavily from any sense of normal combat. They're too artificial for me.
The Blind skull is the worst - specifically in regard to the fact that you can't see your weapon or its reticle. Before anyone says "Ha, too hard for you to cope with eh?", let me be clear. It's not the added difficulty I'm taking issue with, it's the fact that I've got invisible weapons and no reticle. I need some baseline realism to have any interest in playing. Meanwhile the Black Eye skull makes you have to inexplicably bash someone to get your shield back. Like the Blind skull, it takes things too far away from 'proper' combat.
Actually I don't like Tilt either as it devalues bullet-based weapons so much and thus limits variety - but it's those first two I have to draw the line at. Still, at least I feel a bit inspired to maybe try similar challenges - but which retain a feel of proper combat.
On a separate matter, the Iron skull seems redundant as there's a "no dying" rule. Also I would've thought that a "no reverting" rule should also have been imposed, but I don't see it mentioned. Without that, a player is free to revert before dying if they're ever about to get killed, or ever so low on ammo that they don't expect to be able to advance further. Seems false.

Re: Halo On Mythic Difficulty Walkthrough
In reply to: Re: Halo On Mythic Difficulty WalkthroughI tend to agree. Of all the skulls, the last three I turn on are Iron (because it's hard), Black Eye (because it's odd) and Blind.
As an H2 skull I thought Blind made sense since it was good for moviemakers. In H3, being able to activate it arbitrarily made it truly useful. At the same time, its utility is reduced by the built-in screenshot feature and now the video feature of Bungie Pro.
