Everyone has been discussing about halo 3"s boss battle at the end of the game( if there is one ). I have heard that you could be fighting gravemind and cortana, or even another brute leader. Some say that you will fight the prophet of truth. But after reading the blog HALO 3 On-line Co-Op. I decided to leave a comment on the covenant human alliance( human covenant alliance), and after looking over my comment I realized that what if the arbiter and the Master Chief become more of foes then friends.
Even though the arbiter had to work along side MC and johnson to find the index and defeat tartaurus. I doubt the arbiter really likes the MC because he wiped out his honor in the first place. That and I dont think MC would approve of working with an elite that he has been fighting for many years now.
What I am trying to get at here is that what if the final boss battle in Halo 3 would be a face off between The Master Chief and The Arbiter. The only question is if you play as both of them then how would it work out if they had to fight eachother??? So if this was the final battle. We would get to choose who we play as....or we would not get to play as the arbiter at all.

The final twist?
It would be a hell of a turnout, expanding on what you've just said, if the line of the story MADE you play as the Arbiter against the MC in such a boss battle, wouldn't it? Obviously, this is assuming there is one - but it's something to chew on.

RE;RE; the final twist
In reply to: RE; the final twistI think that Cortana will turn out to be evil and go off with gravemind, since the flood are the only race that is under no serious threat, unlike the humans and covanent which are. Also, since human and covanent are fighting the flood would be growing more and more powerful now that halo is destroyed and their only threat is eliminated. Cortana is smart and she would know the probably of surviving with each race and she will calculate that the flood will hace the highest chance of surviving. Also, the fact that at the end of halo 2, gravemind and her had a little talk brings even more to my suspicion, as it would with everyone else.
I also think, that there might be a halo 4, because Bungie has not offically annouced halo 3 as the finish off all that has happend. When i had look at the halo 3 teaser movie (the making) one guy said that it was, but it wasnt offical. He also could have ment the ending to the Human vs Covanent saga, and draw to a Human vs Flood saga, of which what left of the covanent (Elites, grunts and hunters) will either join the humans or the flood or wait, rebuilt and check when the humans or flood are weak then attack and try to win.
Which we all know that MC would end up Kicking both flood and covanent ASS'S!
Boo ya!

Errors In Your Points
Firstly, the most likely boss at the end of Halo 3 is obviously Prophet Of Truth, because he is the leader of the covenant(But really it is only Jackels, brutes, drones)and you know Bungie, they like to go out with a bang, and since Halo is the most successful series, it is going to be a very big bang.
"Even though the arbiter had to work along side MC and johnson to find the index and defeat tartaurus. I doubt the arbiter really likes the MC because he wiped out his honor in the first place. - Master Chief And Arbiter were NEVER friends Nor allies, they chose to work together along with gravemind to complete their common goal, which was to destroy Prophet of truth, get the index (Although Arbiter had another which was to kill the leader of the brutes (Tartaurus)
- Reword your sentence of "That and I dont think MC would approve of working with an elite that he has been fighting for many years now." because it sounds like you are talking about the arbiter as a character not the elites as a group, if you did mean arbiter as a character, then it is high improbable that MC and Arbiter actually faced off previous to the first Halos destruction, For MC would have most likely slaughted him.

- If somehow you are right, and they do faceoff in the end OR have a feud somewhere in the middle of the game, it is most likely that you would play MC (If you actually played instead of a video clip) because he is the main character for both halos.

Truth
In reply to: Errors In Your PointsWell, I tend to doubt it would be the arbiter vs the chief; I just saw this post and thought I'd make it a poll.
However, I don't really think it's Truth, either. The Flood problem will still exist even if the Covenant are completely eliminated. Even if we ally with Gravemind against the Covenant to stop Truth from activating the rings... then what?
Rampant for over se7en years.

Personally...
I think that you will not have to face off between the MC and arbiter, just because Bungie doesn't want that much contreversy going on. One thing I think will happen, is that you will either get to choose to play as the arbiter or MC against another boss(I.E. Gravemind and Cortana, Truth, New Brute Chieftain, etc.) But I do not think that the arbiter and the Master Chief will have to face off. But if they did, and you got to choose who you played as, there would probably be two different endings. If you chose to play as MC, for example, and you ended up killing the arbiter, that would be a turning point in the human-covenant war, and the humans would just end up defeating the covenant or forcing them to surrender, therefore never activating a halo.
However, if you played as the arbiter, and killed MC(gulp)then the covenant would end up winning, they would glass earth, the elites and grunts and hunters end up joining the prophet once again(after completely anhilliating the brutes, of course) and then a halo would be activated and all the covenant would either die, or(I've heard rumors so I'm gonna put this) They would go forward in time roughly 100,000 years, into their perfect future, Thier "Great Journey." Anayway, That's what I think.
Man, I should have posted that as a full blog entry!!!
