BOLL has done it again. This time the fruits of Macromedia's labors are being used to launch Warthogs into jiggling, unsuspecting Covenant Engineers, who no doubt thought that not being included in Halo 1's gameplay would keep them safe; not so.

The latest Flash game from BOLL has you positioning piles of grenades under a Warthog to bash bunches of Engineers, and it tracks the grenades and time you spend at this pastime through many levels (I've seen 20 so far).

mrsmiley writes that angrymouse14 (what happened to the other thirteen angry mice, anyway?) has created four new animated avatar files suitable for forum use. And although some of the avatars on that page are larger than the Rampancy forum supports, the four new ones are just right, and there are several smaller ones as well. Check them out!

BOLL shows us how old this whole Halo-on-a-mobile-phone thing is by linking to the image he put on his phone back in March of 2003.

If yesterday was Rampancy.net News Day at HBO, then it looks like today is going to be Ross Mills Day at Rampancy.

Normally we don't link to this site, and we'll forewarn you, there are inappropriate things on this page, and even more inappropriate things should you click just about anywhere on this site. But there's a Halo reference there, and it's funny, so worth the risk.

M.N.C of deviantART has been putting together some Flash creations; namely a grunt, the Master Chief, and a plasma pistol. He posted in the HBO forum that a "trailer for a movie" is forthcoming. Could be neat, let's see.

rapture took the Master Chief from Stuntmutt's One One Se7en and put him on his Sony Ericsson cell phone, inspiring us to make a similar image from Halo art with our Handspring Treo:

With a slightly bigger screen than an average cellphone, you can view Halo pictures like this on the go. This was created using SplashPhoto, a Mac and Palm-based image gallery system.

With apps like Graphic Converter and Backdrop GC (not pictured) you can make a file like this into a Fireviewer-compatible .pdb file and use it as a background image on a Palm if it has Palm OS 3.5 or greater.

DocOctavius made a nice 3D rendering of the Master Chief, from models and textures extracted from Halo and some freeware rendering tools. He posted it over in the HBO forum and gave us permission to add it to our community art gallery. He promises poseable versions soon.

Doctavius made this render of the Master Chief. He wrote:

Extracted model and textures from Halo PC, remapped and textured in gmax, rendered with YafRay, using Xzzy's exporter (from the gearbox editing forums)... ALL totally free and legal! (and not too hard to figure out- hence, I can do it!)

I'm working on rigging the model and getting other things (elite, grunt, warthog) properly unwrapped for some nice wallpapers and short video clips...

Hopefully soon it'll support reflections and stuff- right now bumpmaps and specular maps work just fine.

Inspired by the spritelike characters of the Halo comic Halo:Resolution, a bunch of aspiring artists in the Squidi.net forum have made a series of Halo-related sprites. Word is Louis Wu will try and build an archive of them at HBO, pending permission from the artists. In case it doesn't happen, go check out the threads now.
