Unless you've been abducted by Covenant since last night, you can't have missed the strange results in the U.S. Presidential Election. First Florida was counted for Gore, then withdrawn... then for Bush. All of the networks at that moment declared victory for the Republicans and began to call it a night. The New York times went forward, printing Bush Wins! and Gore made the customary phone call to his opponent. Then suddenly things shifted once again.
Today, officials in Florida have been in the process of recounting the votes. Gore, who withdrew his congratulations from Bush, currently owns the popular vote (what the individual voters want), and holds 260 electoral votes to Bush's 246. However, if Bush wins Florida, that puts him over the top at 271 electoral votes; one vote beyond the 270 required to win this election.
So... we wait and we watch. And discuss. It currently appears like the Goranites have the majority (or at least are more outspoken) in our forum. Just make sure you keep things civil, considerate and within the bounds of friendly discussion people. This isn't over, and may yet prove to be one of the strangest political situations that the United States will experience for some time to come!
