In response to some questions posted in our forum by Lizardman, Matt Soell responded with some information on where Bungie is right now in the decision-making process for a lot of things. Here is one of the questions:
: 2. Matt or Yeroen
: Is there anyway you guys could be more specific
: about the 'new community'?....Is there
: anything else you could add? Or give us a hint of what you
: /have/ figured out? Honestly, there isn't much that we _have_ figured out. I know that I'll have more time to devote to forums like these. I know I'll have more time to work with the fan sites and more leeway to do as I please with them; those of you who've complained that magazines get all the cool stuff first should see that problem remedied. (It's my stance that fan sites are just as important as traditional media and their web outlets; the main difference is a lack of corporate funding.) I know I'll be working more closely with the development teams, so those of you who miss the sort of information (or Bungie-style allusions to information) that Nathan used to be able to dole out should be placated. I know that www.bungie.net is going to get a lot cooler than it already is. But we don't have many specifics, just high-falutin' ideas. Once Max, Peter and I get settled in Washington, hire the additional staff we'll need, and force-feed them the Bungie Kool-Aid, our community plans should get a lot more concrete.
Again, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Patience is probably a heck of a lot harder to maintain than anger in a situation like this.
