In response to a question by Michael Ash in our forum, Marty O'Donnel has posted a public announcement that he'll now be a permanent fixture at Bungie. Read on:
I still own TotalAudio, only as of May 1 it's called TotalAudio @ Bungie. Mike Salvatori is staying with the studios we built out at Post Effects in Chicago. I started at Bungie before the MS thingy came up. Now I'm moving to Seattle. I'll be the Audio Lead for Bungie Studios at MicroSoft. I'll be building a Mac based studio there and look forward to bringing my new Powerbook to every meeting I attend. I'm also looking forward to having the chance to work with a system that will treat sound with consistent high fidelity - the XBox. I'll still make sure that stuff sounds great on Mac's and PC's (with all those stupid soundcards), but man, 5.1 Dolby surround right out of the box? Cool! Marty O'Donnell
Microsoft @ Bungie @ TotalAudio
We'd heard rumors of this change at E3, but it's great to get the official word from Marty himself. Perhaps some may take comfort in noting that so many people at Bungie are acting so positive and excited about the move to Microsoft. They can't all be smoking crack, can they? ;-)
