This has to be one of the strangest Halo tie-ins. Madame Tussaud's wax museum in Las Vegas, Nevada has added a wax statue of its first videogame hero: Master Chief from Halo.
You really sort of want to know whose idea this was, and then who thought it was a good enough idea to actually do it.
Kotaku is as good a place to get the story as any; they've posted the entire official press release.
UPDATE: Joystiq has some more details, including a picture from the unveiling.
UPDATE: Major Nelson's latest podcast covers the unveiling, if you care to hear it. Check his blog to find it.
UPDATE: Xbox.com has an official story on this now.

In reply to: Re: Master Chief Petty Officer Waxy Yellow BuildupAwesome. Looking forward to it.
The stories say it's actually sculpted from clay, not wax. Is the Chief unique in this respect, or are all "wax figures" these days actually clay?
