Traditional media are picking up on the announcement that Peter Jackson will be the executive producer on the upcoming halo feature film.
Reuters reports that Jackson and his wife, Fran Walsh, will share the executive producing role as a team. Universal will do production and domestic distribution, while Fox does international. Halo will be shot in Wellington, New Zealand using Jackson's production and post-production facilities. A director is to be named "in coming weeks". Similar stories are popping up at Coming Soon, CNN, TechNewsWorld, Canoe (a Canadian news site) and Geekzone (an NZ-based site).
So far the reaction about Jackson's appointment to the Halo movie project seems to be drowning out any buzz from Microsoft's X05 event in Amsterdam, but we assume those announcements will start trickling in. (Doubtless this was the "big thing" Frankie hinted at last week--Ed.)
UPDATE: And now it's hit Slashdot. It was inevitable.
