The news items are flying fast and furiously in the last few days before Halo 2's launch, so in order to keep up we'll be posting news summary items where necessary. These items were pointed out at various other gaming sites, including HBO, Sector 7, Halo Planet, GameSpy and IGN. This weekend's summary so far:
- Shishka opens OptiMatch forum. Bungie controls the playlists that Optimatch mode uses, and this forum is for user feedback on those playlists.
- Halo4U interviewed Louis Wu about the five hours a day, every day for five years experience he's had at HBO. Who was Wirehead, anyway?
- Marcie "Queen of Mirth" O'Donnell, wife of Halo 2 soundtrack composer Marty "The Elder" O'Donnell, has an article up at the Marty Army group page about Halo fandom as a neurological condition. Marty and Marcie? Who would have guessed?
- One One Se7en now requires a decoder ring.
- Clarksbrother wants your questions for a local TV interview with a Bungie employee.
- With access to Halo 2 already (how'd they manage that?) rapture at cooked gamers (EA on XBL) is reviewing Halo 2's weapons. He also details some of the bugs in PC and Xbox Halo that could be exploited in the earlier games that have been removed from Halo 2.
- IGN talks about what Bungie.net is going to do with Halo 2 stats.
- Two articles about Nathan "bentllama" Walpole; one in the London Free Press, and another on Sympatico/MSN.
- The Junkyard spotlights That Weasel of That Weasel TV, Halo film site. Yes, that weasel.
- Sector 7 summarized the new info from the Making of Halo 2 show on MTV for those who missed it.
