First off, just let me say that although I've had Halo since just after it's release and be playing it since then looking up stuff about it on the internet is something I haven't been doing for long so this is probably old news to most of you, so please bare with me.

As far as I can tell, the yellow banshee doesn't exist. Yes, Bungie did make a picture of it but it was only a picture and they didn't put it into the game and the stories about gnomes, midget elites and Otm Shank and another guy dying were all just crazy talk.

Am I right?

Ahh the Yellow Banshee!

As myth would have it the Yellow banshee was located in the marine surplus supply store in the cave on the Silent Cartographer level, it was developed by the gnomes to defeat the midget elites but then was stolen. You have to infiltrate the midget elites headquarters and defeat the Mutant Hippo and the Orange Hunter to return it.
If you accomplish this task in 3 hours you will be given the Yellow Banshee.

As the truth would have it the yellow banshee was a fabrication by skavenger_s7 mentioned in a post on HBO in reply to another message.

Pretty impressive really that the speculation has gone as far as it has in only a month or two.

c0ld

P.s
I was joking in the truth section above, the Yellow Banshee IS real.

Ah, I thought so!

Personally I don't belive that it exists. Considering the amount of people playing Halo for such a long time now it doesn't seem very likely that no-one would find it yet. Although having said that recently someone found a new little easter egg where you enter a certain word as your profile name and you get a little message. So maybe it's still hiding in there somewhere.

It's possible that the yellow banshee was just an idea that never made it into the game and they kept the picture which has made people think that it really is real.

If it is real, have you got any idea at all how to get it or any theories, or even just wild guesses?

-----

Can any one tell me how to get out of the pillor of autom i have tryed with the wharthog but it dose not seem to be fast enough before the autom blows up and can you tell me if that is the last level.

one more thing i was QUESTIONING
if you distroy halo in the first game how can they be an halo2 unless the origional halo has a baby first i don't think its possible but other than that halo is a ace game i would like to see one of thoes desk top mates as master chef that would be good

----

OK, first off-- yes, that is the last level.

Yes, you can get out of the PoA with the Warthog. In fact, it's really the only way.

If you're having trouble making it in time, try some alternate routes.

Last resort, look in the Movies section or the Tips and Tricks section at HBO (halo.bungie.org). There are several movies there of Maw runs that should show you how to get to the end faster.

As for Halo 2-- we know part takes place on Earth, part may take place on the Covenant homeworld. It isn't known if any part of it takes place on another Halo. However, the character 343 Guilty Spark mentions quite clearly during the cutscene at the start of "Two Betrayals" that there are other Halos.

Hope that helps.

Congratulations, you discovered a Halo easter egg without any help! ;) If you've never heard of 'easter eggs' they're little hidden jokes or suprises you find in some games. Halo is full of them. If you're wondering why it's there (I sure was at first) what it actually is, is a line of dialogue that was recored but never actually worked into the final game so they put it in as a joke. There's plenty more wierd stuff to find!

I was thinking about Halo 2 the other day, and came up with a pretty well-educated guess about what Bungie is going to do... As most of you can probably guess, Halo 2 is most likely going to occur on Earth. The flood may or may not be fully exterminated, you know the little monitor guy survives in the end (you see him flying in space in the end cutscene). Anyhow, I don't think Bungie will stop there. Think about it, all great movies/games/books/etc. are trilogies. I think they'll make a Halo 3, and it will be on the Covenant homeworld. Don't you think this would be a fitting end for Halo?

After that, I think they'll probably stop the Halo series there. But I don't think there will be any lack of great games coming from Bungie. While Bungie is yet a small gaming company, they have succeeded in making what very-well could be the greatest game ever made! I think an interesting and revolutionary twist they could add to the gaming world, would be a Medival First Person game. Picture it, just like Halo, only past, not future. With Bow and Arrows, and Spears, and Swords, instead of machine guns and sniper rifles...

I think it'd be pretty cool, how about you guys? Any thoughts?

I know that in Halo2 yo start off fighting the covenant on Earth. You get all the new aliens like the prophets and Brutes. You then get sent to the covenant home world to hit them at the heart of their attack. So Halo3 will not be based on the covenant home world but maybe another alien world??? I like Morrowind, it's a great RPG (but only if you like that sort of RPG. It's nothing like, say Final Fantasy or Anachronox. It's more like Ultima Underworld). But although it's in a 1st person perspective it's not really like that much like a FPS, what I'd really like to see is more of a straight FPS in a medievil world with a bit of stealth involved.
