I was just looking through the images section of this brilliant and informative site (No, really!) and I clicked on to the picture of the Prophet and a question suddenly entered my mind: what colour will the Prophet's blood be? Guesses anyone?

Thats a good question... Eliete's blood is blue-ish to purple.. Grunt's blood is sky blue.. Jackal's, purple.. Hunter's is bright orange... And I'm taking a big guess here but I have a inclination to say that the Prophet's blood will be yellow-ish and the Brute's will be brown-ish... Thats all Ive gotta say.

Hmm, not sure about Prophet blood.

When I try to guess about stuff in Halo 2, I usually go back to Marathon and look. Marathon had 2 kinds of units that bear at least some kind of resemblance to Prophets, either due to their role in the story, or their physical appearance.

The S'pht Compilers, while they have a role in the story more like the as-yet-unseen-in-real-gameplay Covenant Engineers, were these floating things with mirrored faces and red flowing robes. They looked so majestic, in fact, that early in playing the first game I got a bit confused about the difference between Pfhor and S'pht. The Pfhor were the slavers and the S'pht the enslaved... but the enslaved just looked so much cooler.

On the blood issue, that's no help. S'pht didn't bleed, they just evaporated when killed.

Pfhor Elites, on the other hand, were also these tall, thin, colorful guys. Although they weren't sitting in chairs and didn't float. But they had cool plasma weapons. They had purple blood, if I remember.

Incidentally, if you take the original Pfhor fighters from Marathon-- these insectoid, tall, thin guys in multicolored suits and breathing masks-- and shrink their limbs down to midget size... you basically get Grunts. They fulfill the same role in both games-- they are the bulk of the ground troops, not that strong individually, but dangerous in groups.

In reply to: Bleeding Bungie colors

I think you may be on to something here narcogen. I always thought that the most innovative unit in Myth was the wight, not to mention the most fun. Now taking into account the Marathon story (for more information please check Marathon's Story) concerning S'pht I think that the Prophet would be a fairly ideal candidate to explode when dead. Sure it can always evaporate but what fun is that. I'm sure the gibs would then evaporate for political reasons of course.

Honestly I do not think that the color of the Prophets blood will reveal anything important to the story itself. It is just another fun thing that Bungie, assuming they have the time to joke with, will put into the game for us to speculate about. Perhaps the blood is nothing more than a 9-digit color code, how's that for speculation.

In reply to: Prophet = Wight?

Well, let me clarify-- S'pht just kind of evaporated, not the kind of dangerous-to-player explosions you get out of Wights in Myth or, say, Ticks in Marathon.

As the Prophets are supposed to be the leaders, I rather doubt they'd execute a self-sacrificing attack like a Wight-- except perhaps when almost dead anyway.

I think if you're looking for a unit comparison, the Spec Ops Grunts are the Ticks. Not that dangerous by themselves, but the explosion after death is. I think it's easier to make unit comparisons between Marathon and Halo than it is with Myth, mostly because of the great differences between the FPS and RTS genres.

I would think the color of the blood would be purple, like the color of royalty. It also seems to me that, by their looks, it would be purple.

In reply to: my guess

The Eliete's blood was purple, I'm pretty sure Bungie could come up with something more innovative than putting the basic purple blood in for 2 different species...

well i think the blood would be the same as the elite's and jackle's

I'm thinking it's going to be purple. Don't all the other members of the Covenant have purple blood?

Wanted9867's picture

In reply to: Prophet blood

The covenant aren't a race, they're a 'covenant' of various species that all want humans destroyed. And no, Hunters' blood is orange, Grunts' is sky blue, and Elietes' and Jackels' are light/dark purple ((depending on how much is leaking out))

the prophets should explode and blood goes everywhere. cuz they are the prophets, they do alot of thinking,. so when they explode all you can find is blood. no parts. they just "dissapier"

In reply to: Hmm.

Well I'm sure that if they put Halo2 on PS2 than they'll disappear if you want them to or not since they're still trying to figure out how to code games on there to make them look half-decent. lol
