Bungie's campaign trailer at E3 2007 might have been short on story points, but it did reveal one important thing: the Arbiter is back. Here, the Chief and the Arbiter, who never meet during the Halo 2 campaign, are pictured together, something never seen before except in fanart.
What does this foreshadow about the Halo 3 campaign? Does it mean that in cooperative play your buddy will no longer be relegated to playing a nameless and mysterious second Spartan that no NPC acknowledges? Would this focus on integrating cooperative play into the storyline indicate more attention lavished on this feature-- and perhaps indicate the presence of network play over Live? Is that exactly the kind of rampant speculation that makes Bungie keep details close to the vest?
The answer to that last question is certainly 'yes'.
