The User account screen allows you to register for a new account if you do not have one, or to view your current user information and site settings if you are logged in.

It has three main areas: view information, edit information, and logout.

The edit information screen can also be accessed through the account settings link in the account box, which appears on all screens on the site.

The view information screen displays your username, your email address, your homepage URL and signature.

In addition, it displays two other items: Drupal ID and Jabber ID.

Your Drupal ID is in the form of username@sitename. It can be used at other sites that use the Drupal content management system without going through a second registration process, if that site allows authentication using a Drupal ID. The home page for Drupal is http://www.drop.org.

The Jabber ID performs a similar function for registered users of the cross-platform instant message program Jabber. The home page for Jabber is http://www.jabber.org.

The edit user information page allows you to edit all the information displayed in the view information page, as well as change several other site settings not shown on that page, including site theme, time zone, and password.
