Hey guys, this is Mogul. Some of you might know me as a journalist for team Fnatic, the multi-championship-winning UT2004/Painkiller international team. Others may recognize me from PlanetQuake! And yet others might have seen my news work on Challenge-TV -- so -- what am I doing here? Recently, ESReality.com published an article about Halo 2's competitive scene. Being actively involved in the PC competitive gaming scene for several years now, it was surprising to me to see that the game was picking up a great following. So here's where I'm going with this. This moment in history marks a _most-interesting_ chapter in the growth of competitive gaming. I'm not a crazy PC-only competitive player; I'm looking for the entire electronic gaming community to grow into competitive prosperity, and I'm glad to see Halo going there. Being involved with great PC teams like c58 (Cyberfight.org) and Fnatic (fnatic.com), I was already well-aware of US team Check6 (maybe better known as x6). I've just recently started following x6.Halo2 and I'm blown away at the amount of success that they've enjoyed, being an extension of an already successful PC gaming team. There have been other PC crossover teams to make an attempt at the success x6 has had, but none have made it that far -- yet. With games like Halo 2, and more recently, Unreal Championship 2, I'm looking for this market to really take off. What I'm hoping for is for more PC-centric teams to take notice of leagues like the MLG, and get involved in the action! I might blog something similar to this at Fnatic or maybe even write up an in-depth special with interviews and some numbers that would probably blow most people's minds. If Fnatic were to assemble a Halo 2 team, who knows what might happen? Fugundes lives just a few miles away from me, btw...
