*343 gs has been the guardian of installation 04 for 101,217 local years
*color of elite armor signals their rank(black is highest rank, gold means field master, red means platoon leader, blue means elite soldier
*their was a reclaimer before master cheif, his name was marvin mobuto, his rank was staff sergeant, he died before retreiving the index
*the forerunners weren't covenant, they are an extinct alein race
*no, the flood weren't surfaced on the second mission
*their are alot of prophets
*our galaxy is 100,000 light years from one end to the other, halo's pulse range is only 25,000 lights years, so it could not wipe out all life in the galaxy, unless the other halo's were activated along with the halo MC was on. it would take four halo's to deplete all life in the galaxy( remember that 343 isd the guardian of installation 04...)

That makes a lotta sense with the whole rank thing... Cauzz on the Two Betrayals they have those eliete eliete/grunt units that pop out every once in a while..

i heard this at...
I knew someone would ask that question, I heard all that wonderful info. from a book called Halo: the flood. it is based on the Halo campaign and you should read it if you want to know more about 343 and the covenant.
