I’m trying to complete halo on legendary without dieing
(each time I die I restart the level (I’ve only done the
first level like this so far)). This tactic of cause
takes a lot of running and hiding, but on level: Halo
when you are protecting the first lot of survivors (before
the warthog) if I take too long mopping up the remains of
the last drop ship foe hammer comes and the last of the
covenant just disappear. Has this happened to any one else?
And does anyone else play like me (legendary no deaths)?

Yes, that's been known to happen on the level "Halo" there, and also the last place you need to protect survivor before Foe Hammer picks you up. In fact, sometimes if you try to leave the area without getting in the Pelican at all, sometimes the cutscene will just start anyway.

Actually, I had something even stranger happen the other day. Foe Hammer came in while there was still a battle going on, and dropped the Warthog into the middle of a crowd of Covenant Elites, who promptly killed the gunner.
I think this tends to happen if you wander too far away from the structure. If you go far enough that Cortana is telling you not to leave yet, then you might end up triggering this.

In reply to: Re: YesYeap- Eventually Echo 419 comes to the rescue. Although, for me, the other Covenant didnt die so I rushed in, darting back and forth between trees, blasting them with all I got. And also, I do your fun little challenge, too. I won on all levels BUT the one I had the most difficult time in was the Library... GOSH I hate that level!!!

(do you) ...
