A Reuters story on News.com is citing that Toysrus.com and its partner Amazon.com have apparently sold out of the $499 XBox bundles it began offering this Tuesday-- and only took 30 minutes to do so. No word on how many units were sold.
For those nervous that bundling will be the only way to get an XBox, the story has this quote from a representative of Microsoft:
The next chance to preorder XBox bundles from Amazon and Toysrus will be September 11.Microsoft spokesman James Bernard said the company is giving marketing moneys to retailers that sell specified presale bundles, but he denied that unit allotments are also tied in and said such promotions will end once the console goes on sale at stores.
A lot of retailers on day one will be selling the system stand-alone for $299, he said.
