IGN has a four-page wrapup on how well Halo 2 lived up to its hype, how some expectations were so high they were bound to lead to disappointment, and how the game does, in fact, fall short in some areas. A nicely rounded description-- it almost sounds like it's from a Bungie fan and not an Xbox game reviewer. Thanks Louis Wu.
Rampancy has added an annotated summary of Halo 2's plot, called the Halo 2 Story Summary to our Halo 2 Guide; comments, questions, arguments are most welcome! However, beware-- while this is certainly not a walkthrough and does not go into specific details about how to defeat enemies within the game, it will spoil the story for you if you haven't played the game yet.
Yesterday, the Covenant fleet seemed so far away
Now it looks as if they'd like to play
Oh, Earth was safer yesterday.
Suddenly, I'm twice the SPARTAN that I used to be,
With an AI hanging out with me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go I don't know she wouldn't say.
I shot something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, Halo 1 was such an easy game to play.
Now from the Flood I need to hide away
I should've stood in bed yesterday.
Mm mm mm mm mm.
Hi,
I have recently created a set of Halo icons For Mac OS X. You can veiw and download them from http://www.eddav.dyndns.org/halo2_icons/index.html . There are also .jpeg, .psd and .ico resources you can download.
The Halo 2 Icon set consists of 38 128x128 high-res Icons of various characters, weapons and vehicles from the game. There are even some vehicles (such as the warthog variations) which I included, that are not on the final game.
I hope you enjoy them!

Rampancy's series of Halo 2 Impressions continues today with Outskirts, a level that is fun to play but despite major additions seems to somehow pale against the drama and promise of the New Mombassa trailer from E3 2003. You can find information on Halo 2's campaign and multiplayer levels in our Halo 2 Guide.
The part of a Halo 2 level that was shown at E3 in 2003 morphed into what eventually became two levels, Outskirts and Metropolis, roughly divided into Old and New Mombassa, respectively, the city being divided into two parts by a river and connected by a bridge.
The Sword Flying trick was first extensively demonstrated on Metropolis. The procedure for executing it is somewhat complicated; it involves parking a Warthog in an area where a Phantom attacks, targeting the plasma sword on one of the Phantom's turrets, and then waiting until the Phantom has withdrawn before exiting the vehicle. You will be propelled in whatever direction you face; this method can be used to extensively explore the level, including otherwise unreachable areas and is a way to retrieve the Scarab Gun without a Banshee (although you can't get back down with it...)
In multiplayer a variation of the Sword Flying technique exists, but it requires split-second timing and performing it consistently is difficult.
With the sword as your reserve weapon, take another weapon and find a target; a scoped weapon with a reticle that turns red when locked on a target in range, such as the rocket launcher, is preferable.
Then, switch to the sword and pull the trigger. If the switch and pull are timed correctly, you'll perform a lunge attack regardless of the distance between you and the target.
Things outside the Haloverse are going to be busy for a bit, so here's a news roundup to start things off:
I can't find it anywhere and I heard people here have it :) So plz send me the Piano Halo 2 Sheet music to Jakle@qwest.net
