Rampancy always displays the Account box on every single page. On most themes, it is the first box on the left hand side, although in some it may appear on the top right.

If you haven't logged in, this box displays a login form and a link to register for a new account.

Once you've logged in, it displays links to:

  • view your weblog
  • add an item to your weblog
  • the submission queue (if you have access)
  • recent comments
  • account settings
  • logout
  • The first two items pertain to your blog, or weblog. More information can be found in the User blog item under the Main menu section.

The submission queue is a list of content items that have been submitted, but not yet posted. If there are any items in the queue, the number of items will display next to the link.

Items can leave the submission queue if they are approved or removed by administrators; in addition, users with access to the queue can vote to post or dump an item; when an item reaches the required number of votes one way or the other, it either gets dumped or posted. Items that are posted increase the user rating of the user that submitted the item.

The recent comments area shows a list of recent comments organized by what node they are attached to (a news story, a forum topic, or any other item that allows comments) and by timestamp. This screen also displays a link to view only your own comments instead of all new comments on the site.

Account settings links directly to the edit user information screen of the User account area (unlike the user account link in the main menu, which links directly to the view user information screen).

Logout ends your user session. The current page will reload and the account box will display a login screen. Login sessions don't automatically expire after a certain time, unlike those at sites like banks. However, if you quit your browser this will also end a login session. Just closing a browser window doesn't.
