Poll Results
An interesting poll this week, if only because it was the most lopsided result yet. When asked if they still planned on buying and playing Oni, Halo fans were resoundingly positive:

Another quiet weekend... a time for updating subpages and contemplating the universe. Having figured out the universe, I've moved on and updated the FAQ with a couple of new questions, two or three new answers, and even a picture! Heh.
Help feed a starving webmaster, send in your news, rumors, and insightful questions for the FAQ. Otherwise, things may get ugly around here... I have only one word for you: haikus.
SonicStorm sends word that Halo Network is now open for business, with quite a bit of content to start with and more to come. Another link for zee Navigation panel, and another stop for the daily rounds... stop by and help warm the house.
As forecasted by (::roots through archive::) rojay on 10.30, CGW has posted their second of five games that will change gaming forever, via Gamespot. It's an old article, but if it's news to you, stop by and take a look... and while you're there, ignore the Q1 2000 release date. They're on crack.
Kudos to those readers who have pointed out and sent in this automated reply being sent to anyone requesting information on Bungie's presence at Macworld SF:
An interesting item at IMG today, about an upcoming game that could well be a rival for Halo: WWII Online. Like Halo, the game boasts unified land and air combat (and sea combat, too), and is due for an open beta in Q2 2000.
Not many screenshots to look at, though the descriptions are fairly interesting. The persistant online world sounds like a very ambitious version of Warbirds... one to keep an eye on in coming months.
Just when you thought it was safe to have an online poll... Marathon's Story has pointed out a new poll at mpog.com, asking the question Which game development house has most impressed you in 1999?
Needless to say, Bungie is on that list, and the faithful will immediately know what to do. Unsurprisingly, Bungie is already leading by an impressive margin, but that is only the beginning. Rock the vote, folks!
When lacking content, create your own. Inspired by a discussion on the halo.bungie.org forum, I punched out a sort of introductory article for people new to Halo, Bungie, and Marathon:
Bah, boring day. My daily patrol of the news sites has turned up little of interest (read: none), and no shocking revelations on the forum. Periods of intense excitement broken up by long quiet phases, c'est la vie.
The poll is progressing nicely, despite the unforeseen lopsided result. I expected a pro-Oni vote, but it appears we have overestimated the no netplay, no sale sentiment. And for the 5.25 of you who don't know what Oni is, edify yo'self.
In what is surely another milestone in the Bungie community, the famous Letters to the Webmaster page has been updated with a new batch of letters, and more importantly, a new batch of responses. Young children and people with heart conditions are advised to steer clear of this one.
