I've read all the books, been to all the sites, and have heard almost every rumor. So please ask away.

Who are you?

Just kidding.

How about, what unique attacks will Prophets have in Halo 2?

Isn't it supposed to be some sort of telekinetic ability? Or have I been dreaming again?

I'm sure that considering your grandiose level of intelligence you actually meant to specify that you would only be answering questions concerning the storyline regarding the possible plot of Halo 2. But since you did not, here goes:

  1. Considering that Halo 2 is supposed to take place over several different locales throughout the universe, any idea where (not including Earth)?
  2. Will similar Halo/ring-worlds make an appearance in Halo 2?
  3. What ever happended to 343 Guilty Spark?
  4. Do we ever get to see Master Chief's face?
  5. Considering the number of other Halos throughout the galaxy, how many siblings does 343 Guilty Spark have? ...and are you still compelled to shoot at each and every one of them?
  6. If the Flood were 'imprisoned' at a single Halo for research, what other possible species/surprises will the other Halos hold?
  7. Who were the Fore-runners? And where are they now? (Reclaimer anyone?)

    And lastly...

  8. When will Halo 2 be released for the Xbox? (Soon™ and When it's done are not acceptable answers.)

In reply to: Not to be outdone...

Well, first of all, I hope humans AREN'T the Forerunner. That's just too typical.

And YES. I AM prepared to shoot at all of 343's siblings. Why wouldn't I?

In reply to: Some Answers

Yeah, so far the only real outstanding question involves the history of the forerunners. Makes you wonder who would possibly create such technologically advanced strutures throughout the galaxy, only to populate them with annoying little 343's. I guess everyone has a sense of humor.

If bungie was up to the challenge, they would code in a little mini target practice game involving 343's. Imagine coop'ing that game for hours at a time. With any luck Halo 2 will at least have a tutorial level similar to Myth. I doubt it since every game uses the exact same control setup, but it would be a nice time diversion.

Back on topic though, I doubt that bungie would use humans as forerunners. It's just too much of a slap in the face. They could Possibly be complex computer AI's, but I doubt human. I guess only time and bungie's dedication to their fans will ever enlighten us.

Alrighty, lets see what I can think of.. Why are the Forerunner's structures so large; but yet so small? Like the monsterous caverns, huge doors and those platforms way up on the sides of hills in The Two Betrayals, but then you have the very small tiny elevators there also.. What is the reason there? Also what are your thoughts on the numerous ducts and valves found in the AotCR?? Why are there platforms up in the middle of deep cavern such as that one in The Two Betrayals where the golden eliete is and several Banshee's.
Also, what are those ducts that the Flood fall out of in the Library? Why are the panels to open the doors up in the middle where the MC can't reach, Does this mean that the Forerunners were monsters but some were small?! Why are the overrides for these panels found up those strange ducts that the flood fall out of?
What does the index contain? Is it pure concentrated information?! What is the index!?

WHY WONT 343GS DIE!!

In reply to: Heres a few ??

I, for one, have always felt that Halo 04, and perhaps others as well, were designed not just to hold and study one dangerous species (The Flood) but others as well. The small passages and elevators might have been for the Forerunners themselves.

For instance, whether or not you believe that Humans are the Forerunner, 343GS does mistake us for the Reclaimer, so it seems that the facility was at least in part designed for something of human size and general shape.

Some of the larger doors and areas, in the Library for instance, might be to allow the passage of much larger creatures... say, for storage.

As for why doors open where you can't reach and Flood drop in from nowhere.. I think that's more a gameplay decision than about Forerunner design :)

In reply to: Zoo Theory

That's a darn good idea about those animals... But if that was true, then in the Library why isn't there just a straight hallway, what about those tunnels that run back and forth underneath there where the Carriers always hide? And then there are those darn glass panels with a little walkway between them ((shooting out those glass panels and watching the flood chase after you and fall in is really funny to watch))?? And whilst you walk down that large central doorway you can look to the right/left and see cutouts in the wall, I wonder what they would be for...
Ive heard lots of theories that those small tubes and tunnels are for flooding parts of the ring to kill off species... wonder if theres any fact behind that. And Ive heard that the weather also had to do with killing off the species, could the weather have been modified on some parts of the ring to accompany different species of animal perhaps?! But if so, would that mean the canyon areas of the ring ((such as in Truth and Reconciliation)) are for a flying-type creature, the areas like in The Two Betrayals are for cold-weather creatures, and landscape such as that in The Silent Cartographer are for more amphibious creatures.....

I feel Ive gotten way to deep into this whole thing, I mean its just a game.. Right??

In reply to: Good theory

I think it's dangerous sometimes to look too deeply into certain parts of gameplay in order to get a story interpretation. For instance, whether or not the "zoo" theory is right, it does explain a lot of things-- why there are various climates and livable terrain on what is otherwise a giant weapon (why not just bare metal?) and why sizes of doors vary, etc.

When it comes to the Library, though... I pretend it really isn't there. I've never been sure if the Flood were escaping from there, or invading it themselves... perhaps trying to get the Index? Except they don't seem to be trying that. Perhaps stopping you from trying to get it. But maybe not.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have been expecting much, I'll have to resort to the forums on Bungie.net and Narcogen to answer my deeper questions.

I damn well hope that Bungie has some playback thing on one of the rings that will walk you through halo 101,?????? relative years or w/e ago, and show you exactly WHAT and WHO and HOW the Forerunners worked. And WHAT and WHO and HOW the rings were used. And WHAT/HOW the Forrunners died without leaving a single trace of what they were. (or maybe they do one another part of the ring, seeing as you only explore a tiny bit)..

Damn it, I really am falling for this stupid theory stuff..lol (it's not all that bad I guess.)

In reply to: I sure hope....

Well, don't get you're hopes up too high-- Bungie's previous SF shooter trilogy, Marathon, was quite a bit deeper (at least to date) than Halo, storywise, and a lot of questions were never answered in-game. You can check out the Marathon Story Page, though, and take a look at the kind of storylines Bungie likes to use. There are many parallels between the two stories.

In reply to: Hmm. Well...

It would really be a shame if they didn't and we're forced to live in oblivion and theorum until someone maybe puts out a finalizing book... which would also be nice.
Please someone from Bungie stumble across this, take the rest of the year to make the game, but please add a testiment of the halo's and their creators!

Alright, I might be going too far here.. in fact I know I am.
Lets see here, could it be possible for the Covenant to be races that the forerunners used to hold on the ring, along with the flood?? I mean, I think that the covenant joined together, overthrew the forerunners and left the flood there knowing that they were a dangerous possible weapon?... thats a wild idea. Maybe they came back, tried using them and then messed up >
Thats really really REALLY out there...... oh well
