Well, a bit back on Halo.bungie.org, it was said that someone revealed that it would be called, "Halo 2, Homeworlds"

someone asked when halo 2 came out ive heard it to be 10/15/04. and who ever said u already Outwited the Ancient A.I. Construct u did it onece. but if u beat the game on legendary and watch after the credits when halo is exploding u see 343 flying off into space. so im guessing u have to outwit him more than once.

I guess so, but if one knows The Answer but not The Question, what other way can one find out what The Question is?

Sigma's picture

In reply to: Re: Soffish...Matt?

The question... hmmm... I think we may already know the question, we just haven't connected the answer and qustion yet. It could be as Hunterx said, something simple as the slogan of soffish, but what does that tell us? The question must give the answer to something as well as Soffish, if not, we would be searching in vain. The question is,in some aspects, the answer.

Ryan's picture

In reply to: Re: Soffish...Matt?

The only thing I can think of is this (for now)...

Question: Where is the easter egg?
Answer: Soffish. (Soffish isn't the question, Soffish is The Answer.)

Maybe as Soffish is an older Bungie thing, maybe it's something to do with an OTHER older Bungie thing...

the deeper meaning isn't in soffish. you're looking in the wrong spot. the deeper meaning is found in Pimps at Sea.

Hehehe.Well,I've figured out the question."WHERE is the Soellfish."You see,you should go to Bungie.com's Inside Bungie and start looking around there, you won't have to do more afterwords.

Do you think Bungie will put a driveable wraith in Halo 2? After all they have been said to have been listening to fans requests and since this wasn't olny vehicle you couldn't use* then I expect they'd put it in. Or will they not bother as you will have access to lots of other vehicles such as the covenant shadow?

* Except with the modding gear.

Maybe they could at least make it so you could flip 'em
I was trying to flip it on two bets and it took me hours to work out you couldn't!

wasn't olny vehicle you couldn't
use
what other vehicles weren't asscesible, I call halo junk now but still love it cus iv got nightfire, its got better multie player

you will have access to lots of other vehicles such as the covenant shadow?

What's a "Covenant Shadow"?

Um, The question was: whats a shadow and what other vechiles weren't acssesable, not is HALO bullplop!

Ryan's picture

In reply to: Re: Driveable Wraith in Halo 2

There were some other vehicles you couldn't use, but I mean the wraith is the only one that could easily have been included but wasn't (it would have been tricky to put in escape pods or pelicans te way the game ended up, but the wraith could have been added).

The Covenant shadow is a vehicles I saw a while back in a preview which is like a wraith only 4 elites can ride on the sides and it has a different gun mounted on top of it.

Okay...so they say it's not final game stuffs...but Bungie's Site has some cool concept stuff up...
inlcuding an ATV looking thing as well as a concept sketch of the Covenant Shadow...which looks to be a two-seater.
they've also got some other nifty stuff...for all those of you who haven't seen it yet. go look!...and bring a spare pair of pants!

That being said...what the hell is up with the english some of you monkeys are using? it's outright pathetic! and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only person who thinks so.

Bungie said a while back they had experimented in the origonal Halo engine with the idea of a tank where one of you drives and the other one uses the turret. Sounds good, tandem vehicles like the warthog worked well in the origonal.

Yeah, the Shadow is a new Covenant vehicle in Halo 2. Has two seat, about 5 cannons and is speedy. It's also quiet and very good for silent attacks.

Actually I think the Shadow holds three like the Warthog (A driver, a gunner, and a passenger). It's basically a hovering wart hog with Covenant technolgy. The gun in the back is similar to the Shade (Stationary Gun).

After playing HALO so many times, I began to notice several patterns and thought of several theories:
1) In the third level when you board the Truth and Reconciliation, you have to sniper Covenant forces. If you pay attention though, some of the Grunts are actually SLEEPING on the. In "Assault on the Control Room", the same thing happens. The Grunts are sleeping every where. I think that the Grunts are in a state of hybernation when they are in cold weather (i.e. the cold night near a desert plateau and the wintry weather when your attacking the control room). Also, how are the Grunts capable of speaking English? Just something I thought about.

2) Also, did you ever wonder why the hell the Convenant are so hell-bent on destroying the human race? If you notice, the Covenant are mostly lizard-like creatures with scaly skin, cold blood, etc. Maybe the Covenant detest the humans because they are mammal-like instead of reptillian.

3) In "Keyes," Cortana says that the Flood overwhelmed the Covenant cruiser and that the Covenant are scared that the Flood will repair the ship and leave Halo. In my opinion, the Flood have little intelligence and they lack proper appendages. How could they have the knowledge to repair a Covenant cruiser? Also, on the ship's bridge, Captain Keyes has been assimilated into the Flood so the Flood must also know the location of Earth as well as 343 Guilty Spark since he was tapping into the Pillar of Autumn's data array. So now there are three dangerous forces that are capable of finding Earth and destroying, but in the Halo 2 trailer, the Covenant beat them to it.

4) Not to sound like a female activist (which I'm not), there were few females in the entire game. There was Echo 419, but you never saw her face, the lifepod pilot who died, and Cortana, but she wasn't a soldier. There were no female Marines or female Covenant soldiers. Thought it was worth pointing out.

5) In the final hour where the Master Chief and Cortana destroy Halo, Halo just breaks apart. It is possible, but unlikely that either the Flood, Covenant, or humans survived of escaped Halo before it broek apart. Also, Cortana had the capabilties of ordering all of the Marines to evacuate Halo via dropships, but she didn't . She could've saved the lives of the Marines, but instead, she didn't care.

I have other stuff that I noticed, but I don't want to bore you which I probably already have. Looking forward to your comments.

In the book it talks about the suit MC wears as having a translation sofware. Thats how it knows what the grunts say, but isn't able to translate any of the other races.

i forgot to post a very good reason for it 2 b a jakal is that i seriously doubt flood would infect grunts elites and humans but no jakals(grunts are carriers)

Anonymous's picture

In reply to: Some stuff I noticed....

Although every site i've been to says there are only 4 types of flood there is actually a 5th rare type, if u dont care to find out how i know this dont even bother reading it.

The only reason i know this is because one time i had no weapons with any ammo on the library when i went to pick up some shotgun shells i noticed that one flood the size of a human was realy a jakal. i could tell because it had a crest on its head. and i believe it was rare because it had no sensors on its chest.

Anonymous's picture

In reply to: Re: Some stuff I noticed....

THAT is something I never thought about, but I never saw an infested Grunt either. Most of the infested Flood are humans, Elites, and the carriers are probably either. Never thought about the Jackels or Grunts not being infested though.

In reply to: Re: Some stuff I noticed....

no it was a jakal because it had cvenant feet not human feet

It was probably just an object clipping the model of the dead human flood... remember that u can shoot off parts of flood too!

The covenant elders declared humanity a affront to the gods, so they go to war over destroying them.

Right, but there has to be a logical reason for WHY the Covenant elders consider the humans to be an affront. There must be a reason for why the Covenant want to destroy an entire race.

Maybe the level Keyes is the only one where a grunt could

I remember the Flood chasing the Grunt, but the Flood was probably just attacking the Grunt. The Flood attacks anything and everything other than Flood (Human, Covenant, and the Sentinals), but they have only infected Marines and Elites. If they infect others, which the probably do, they are not shown in the game.

MaTiAz92 wrote on Monday, 02/17/2003 - 7:52 pm:

Okay, before we start a huge argument about infected Grunts and Jackels, there are screenshots of the Carriers which have feet that are very similar to the Grunts. There are several variations of an Infected Marine which may be mistaken for Jackels, but Jackels have different shaped heads and the Infected Flood have either human shaped or what is supose to be Elite shaped, but it is possible that the Infected Jackel does exist.

Ryan's picture

In reply to: Re: Grunts n' Jackels

On the subject of as to why we don't see any infected jackals or grunts (or hunters) in the game, I have some theories.

I think the carrier forms are grunts. Look at this picture.

http://www.bungie.net/images/site/halo/screenshots/scrn_068.jpg

They're about the same size, their feet look like grunt's feet and if you look at a grunt's hands they don't have long fingers, their hand is more like a mitten with all the fingers together and the thumb seperate. Although they're longer and thinner, the carrier form's hands are like that. As for infected jackals and hunters? Maybe the flood just don't think they're useful or Bungie just decided not to put them in. Although during the level 343 Guilty Spark you see loads of jackal and grunt bodies but not a single elite body. So it looks as if they don't use them at all. I presume that some humans and elites get turned into carrier forms. Maybe the flood only want to infect big creatures that would make good fighters? And if that's the case, why don't they infect hunters? I still think the carriers are grunts, though.

By the way, a lot of people think that infection forms are the only thing that spreads the infection but during The Library 343 GS tells us that in actual fact the little infection flood produce a virus that infects organic life forms and causes them to mutate. Then they produce and spread the virus themselves. The infection forms are just one method.
