HOORAY!!! Happy New Year, everybody!!! It's 2007, the year that everyone has been waiting for! Halo 3 comes out this year, and in China, it will be officially un-officially known as "The Year of The Master Chief" LOL!!! It feels really good that we're only, first of all, a couple of months away from the beta, and second(I'm just guesstimatating on this,) about six months away from H3 being released, and Halo Wars soon after. Man, I need to get a 360!!!

Just wondering, on music from Halo 2, what is everyones favorite of the 2 cd's: Volume 1, or Volume 2? I heard that Volume 2 is more of the classic Halo music that moves us all, and that Volume 1 is not as good because it has rock songs that aren't really classic Halo. I agree with the Volume 1 comments, but I don't own Volume 2, so I don't really know, but if it is that classic, good, moving Halo music, where it reminds of the times that we're blowing the crap out of the covenant, and the creepy flood music that we get in the library(and swamp, sentinal wall,) then I would think that the Volume 2 would be better. But I want everyone elses opinion.

Anyway, I love this site so much, especially the fact that everyone makes me feel welcome here, and things like that. So Happy New Year, everyone, and let's all hope that Halo 3(and Halo Wars) ships sometime soon!!!

I prefer the second volume for precisely the reason you mention: More Marty, and less... not Marty.

All due props to Stevie Vai, but I can do without Broken Benjamins and Hoobastankubus or whatever other music the darn kids are listening to these days.

Oh, and get off my lawn.

Thanks for your opinion, Narc, and have you read my forum topic I wrote for Halo 3?

For a while I'd have answered "2" without hesitation, but then (due to an iTunes glitch) I listened to the four-part "Odyssey" sequence as a block instead of broken up over the album... and I rather warmed to it then. It does a good job of soaking up a 20 minute commute, anyway.

Also, "Ghosts of Reach" could very well be my favourite cut on both collections though the military snare in the Delta Halo suite is a close contender.

Thanks, to both of you. Now I am definitely going to end up buying the album, pry on iTunes because it's cheaper, but I will buy it. Anyway, thanks!!!

I second that. I'll play through Outskirts just to hear that track loop.

Ya, I really like the Ghosts of Reach song, and I usually repeat it 2 or 3 times on my iPod before the next song!!!
