I was reviewing Halo entries in random forums as usual, and something interesting came to mind. Most say that the MC is also known as John 117. Reading over this a few times I thought that it sounded like a verse from the bible. I figured it could be one of two. John 1:17, or John 11:7. I'm not a church-goer, but I do happen to have a spare bible lying around, so I did the reserach for you, but I'm no super sleuth and haven't found any connections yet, so see if you can.
John 1:17
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 11:7
Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.

Hmmm.....you do have a point there, Primaloutragex. John 1:17 and John 11:7 may not be the only verses that could have to do with Spartan 117. I sort of went out on a limb- James and John were Jesus's brothers, so I looked under James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from our father in heaven, who does not change like the shadows."

In reply to: Re: he's got a pointYeah. It's all definitely pretty odd. There could be so many more biblical and historical connections with Halo, it's mind-boggling. I've recently heard that in another kind of bible, several references to the flood were made indirectly, kind of freaked me out. I'll try to find it for you.

In reply to: Re: he's got a pointWell I looked in the bible too and I thought maybe u have to read from chapter John 1:17 until the end of the chapter, or read from John 11:7 and on until the end of the chapter, after I read until the end of chapter 1 It said something about the chosen 1 so I thought maybe the MC cause he was the only one that came off the planet Reach, well the only one who survived, and it said some crap about everyone following him to do something said in the 2nd chapter but I thought "no I'm not gonna start to read the whole bible" so yeah I didn't go on, in chapter 11 well it doesn't make any sense to me but maybe if u read it then maybe you'll be able to see how it relates to Halo.
